Greyhound Racing Silks

Racing silks refers to the piece of cloth that a greyhound is wearing during a race. It is used to easily track the greyhounds during the fast-paced race or the exciting photo finish.

The number on the racing silk is the greyhound's post position or the number on the starting gate. The numbers are usually embroidered or printed on the cloth.

Greyhound racing silks are usually made from light fabrics like silk, cotton, satin and polyester blends. Some even use fabrics like fleece, faux fur, faux leather, faux suede, terry cloth, denim and wool.

In the US, there are eight types of racing silks.

In the UK, there are six types of racing silks.
